During the winter months, the West Coast (La Jolla a city within San Diego County, California is where this photograph was taken) can receive some very strong and large waves known as King Tides. They pummel our shoreline and often wreck havoc on surrounding areas. This surf shack perched above the shore on some rocks is normally a dry respite for surfers. However, during these times of big waves, it can quickly and easily become engulfed. You do not want to get too close.
